After exploring through the plethora of videos of all categories from VBS.tv., I came upon this one from their "Politicians, Pundits, and Other People," a series on Reason Mag's Senior Editor and reknown libertarian, Michael Moynihan. He makes some interesting and bold statements worth looking into.
As you've just seen and heard, Moynihan wants to do away with the Dep. of Education entirely, a tenet of some libertarians that I disagree with despite its siginificant failings nationwide. In hopes of discovering his logic behind this, I meandered my way through a web of articles/blog posts written by or about him. Although unlucky in my initial pursuit, I found another interesting article by him titled, "The People's Historian?" I had through most of Zinn's "People's History..." which I thoroughly enjoyed in my suburban revolutionary days of high school, an almost spiritual fervor that was in stark contrast to that of my fundamentalist christian, right-wing high school; a furious endeavor against the status quo which evolved as I entered into bigger worlds.
Later, I heard of some debunking of the book's facts, the book which had been so monumental in my own socio-political doctrine, but these claims weren't followed by any specific substantiation.
